Melted SnowmanBy Dr. Richard Boyum
I keep in my office a "Texas Snowman" suspended in water, which is a hat, a carrot, and a number of pieces of coal that represent eyes and a mouth. This melted snowman is a symbol for a very powerful metaphor. If you don't like the weather, if you really want to you can move. What I am talking about here is a way of thinking, or an actual physical experience. The melted Texas Snowman is a way to say that there are things that can be resolved, dissolved, or we can go to a different place in our mind, or literally leave an environment to create one that is more conducive to our well-being. This exercise or activity can produce very powerful insights and motivation for change.
